TiN Titanium Nitride Coating, has been very popular since the beginning of the 80´s and it has many applications. TiN is the most common coating and tool manufacturers have many tests and tables showing results of these tests. Golden color, hardness and wear resistance, make it a general application coating, however it has been supassed in some applications by other hard coatings.

TiCN Titanium Carbo - Nitride, is very useful in many applications when more hardness is necessary. For milling operations offer a longer tool life and a higher cutting speed than TiN. It is obtained inputting a reactive gas with carbon into the process chamber. The N/C ratio, can be changed and the properties of the coating will be changed. Its gray color, can be changed into brown or violet depending on the application or for decorative purpose.

ALTiN Aluminium - Titanuin Nitride. Adding aluminium to this coating increases its hardness, and oxidation stability of the coating so cutting tools life increases considerbly than with TiN coating. It has been proved as the better coating in cutting aplications at very high cutting speeds. Coating proerties, depend on the content of aluminium. Its black color wear, protection and hardness properties are leading this coating to be necessary in high speed cutting aplications.

CrN Chromium Nitride coating, is very useful in certain aplications where a thicker coating is necessary or where abrasive loads are present. Those aplications can be easely found in paper, textile and plastics industry.
The high oxidation stability and corrosion resistance are very important properties of this coating which is twice as hard as chromium, free of cracks and is applied in an environmentally compatible manner. It can replace hard chrome plating in many aplications.
